Few clients truly understand the power and flexibility of digital editing. Selecting, trimming and splicing best takes is only the start. With state-of-the-art software we can split syllables; cut in and out of the fastest of arpeggios; retune a wrong note; add-in missing notes; re-time difficult passages - and much more. Most clients call what we do ‘magic’; it certainly feels that way when we consider the limitations imposed by tape-head cutting blocks and razor blades of yesteryear.

Digital editing at MRC is carried out using two custom-built Duo-Core Intel Pentium workstations, each equipped with dual TFT displays, multiple high-speed SATA drives and 4Gb RAM. After many years of editing on a variety of platforms our preferred product for exacting manipulation of digital audio is Samplitude Professional. Not only does this provide advanced tools not available elsewhere, but also permits precise synchronisation of sound to picture.

We are able to work from annotated music scores and producer notes made during sessions, which means you don't have to be present at all post-session editing stages. Listening copies can be provided on DVD, CD or Flash disk, or even compressed to MP3/WMA and hyperlinked via our server. This enables a great deal of flexibility, especially when it comes to the logistics of getting evaluation copies to all the key decision-makers.

Our digital editing services are available on a pay-per-hour basis to anyone with a need to finely manipulate or correct recorded sound or sync sound to picture. We can accept and output data in a wide variety of high-resolution file formats.
